All submissions must come to us via The Form Home. We do not accept submissions by email or by post.

All of Registration, Payment and Entry must be submitted online (11:59 pm EST) by March 15, 2025.

No, you can present on any topic related to science and technology.

Yes, simultaneous submissions are certainly allowed. Simply inform us of acceptance elsewhere, if applicable.

Edits must be done prior to entering. Once an entry has been submitted, we do not accept edits, replacements or exchanges. If you wish to re-enter an edited piece, it is most acceptable and is considered to be a new entry. You may wish to slightly alter the entry title or the file name in these cases, so that you are able to identify the versions-should you be selected as a winner.

All contest entrants must be aged between 4 to 19 years.

All entry fees are due in U.S. Dollars. Entry fees can be paid online by credit card/debit card (MC, V, AMEX & DISC) or PayPal.Entry Fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Entries are not returned; please keep a copy for your records.

You can find it in the payment receipt sent over your email automatically either by Stripe or Razorpay or Paypal. If you cant find it in your inbox, do check spam and updates folder too.

Please check the size and type of the file you are uploading. Max file size allowed is 1 MB. For id proof you can upload .jpg, .png, .doc or .pdf files. Video size should not exceed by 250 MB. 

In case of Server Reject, usually the Google Drive of the email id you are using is full, you need to delete some files in order to use it, alternatively you can also use a separate email id to login into Google Form, remember; you have to login into chrome from a new id and not just fill in new id into form.

The Results will be published on this web page only.

Top Award Winners will be notified in next 15 days. Prizes will be distributed by next 90 days. Entrants not selected as winners will not be notified at this time; non-winners will be emailed a competition status update in the 15 days following the winner notification date. If you enter multiple times, please excuse duplicate emails as you may receive an email for each separate entry.

We are a small staff, we get many submissions, and Young scientist award is not our day job; however, we strive to respond to everyone within 10-15 Days. Often the wait will be much shorter. Please be patient, and also don’t be discouraged if you hear a “no” the first time . . . or the first few times. We urge you to submit again! Many of our winners tried several times before getting awarded

To enter, students need to submit a 1-5 minute video or a written project details with images in which they describe a science or technology related solution.

Videos do NOT need to be “produced” or have high production value. Judges are not evaluating production skills. Videos may be recorded on cell phones or simple digital cameras, for example. In addition, local libraries and schools may be able to loan cameras to students.

Students can submit as individuals, pairs or in groups—every participant of the team will receive a medal/trophy if won by the team.Every participant needs to pay individually for their entry.

The competition is open to all students enrolled in1st through 12th grade at a public, private, parochial, or home school located anywhere in the world.

In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, Parental/Guardian consent is needed for any person under the age of 13 years to give personal information to a third party over the internet. In the case of our competition, each student’s parent/guardian needs to grant consent for us to receive their entry.

Entry videos may not contain music unless created by the student or by someone who has given the entrant permission to use his/her music.

 

Many cell phones and digital cameras can be used to film a short video. Students who don’t have access to either can check with their teacher, school media center, or local public library.

Yes, you can find video submission instructions and tips here. It is also very important that each student reads and complies with the Official Rules and Regulations and Safety Guidelines. 

To apply, students must click on the ‘Register Now’ button on the website and fill the Application Portal with the help of a parent or guardian. Once a student’s parent/guardian has completed the consent form and registration page the student will be able to submit a video file (MP4 format). Before uploading your video, Please make sure the title of your video is “Your Name—Category—[Your Project Title]” and your video is between 1-5 minutes in length and less than 1GB size.

Any video that does not meet this criteria will be disqualified from the challenge.

Entries that follow all of the rules and regulations will be ranked based on the average of scores awarded by a panel of judges using the following rubric:

  • Creativity (ingenuity and innovative thinking) (30%)
  • Scientific knowledge (30%)
  • Persuasiveness and effective communication (20%)
  • Overall presentation (20%)

The video competition is judged by a field of experts in science and communication including current and former teachers, scientists, and representatives from school districts across the country.
