Young Scientists on the line!

“I was really proud of  myself…” – this is what Ethan said when asked about how he felt after winning the Young Scientist Award.

We recently had the chance to interview our champion participant in the Young Scientist Contest- Ethan Kumar, a student in second grade at Rise Academy School of Science and Technology, who was announced as the winner of the competition. He is no doubt relentless and extremely confident about his work which was evident throughout the interview. He holds his teachers  in high regard and expressed gratitude to them for helping him in his winning project. He recalled developing interest in Science when he was in a science club in grade one. He shared with us his experience of participating at an international contest for the first time and even winning it. His project was based on the topic of how to solve shoe problems. Clearly, what stood out was his refusal to give up which made his way to this big win.

Talking to us he also revealed that his favourite subject is mathematics since he is good at it. It of course proves his diligence and interest in the subject. He also told us that his science ideal is nobody else but his teacher to whom he is sincerely indebted for support and encouragement. He called his experience at GEMA enjoyable and truly rewarding. He also told us that he was not nervous during the final presentation because of the efforts that went into this project.

He also left a message for all the future participants to not give and try hard. He also suggested everyone to follow their interest and work hard in their respective fields.

He aspires to become a civil engineer in future. This contest indeed helped his way to becoming a confident and risk taking entrepreneur in future. We wish him luck for all his future endeavors.
